We would like to warmly welcome Nick as the new custodian of the Boro as well as share our relief that the ownership situation is now resolved.
The Supporters’ Co-Operative will continue to support the Club through our volunteer initiatives, fundraising efforts and other avenues to realise our aims of improving the match day experience and increasing fan involvement in the running of the football club. We want to reach a point where fans and the community are at the heart of the Boro and we will be working with Nick and the Club to see how we can achieve this together. Mark Axon, Acting Chair of the Supporters’ Co-operative, has already had tentative discussions with Nick regarding this and will continue to do so as the season progresses.
We would like to put on record our sincere thanks and appreciation to Adam, Carly, Phil and other Boro staff along with Nicky, Lee and the players for their hard work and perseverance in incredibly challenging circumstances. This experience has given us a greater insight into the challenges of running a football club. We will reflect on what we’ve learnt and share our insights with fans in due course.
The Supporters’ Co-operative would also like to put on record our thanks to Ian Neale and Lee Thorn for generously withdrawing their directors’ loans and facilitating the sale of the club.
We encourage all fans and the local community to join us at Liberty Way on Saturday to back the Boro in our local derby against Leamington FC.
We will share further information about our plans to support the Club in the upcoming months.
Up the Boro!
