Born in Nuneaton in 1934 and educated at Abbey Green and Manor Park Secondary Modern Schools.

I have been avid Nuneaton Boro and Town supporter for over 70 years. When I was 6-7 years old sneaking into Manor Park by the tin fences on the Coventry Canal side. I played local football for St Mary’s and had trials for Leicester City at the age of 15, but due to low finances at that time was unable to pursue further. I played for the Army and Folly Lane in the 50’s, and also Jaguar Cars. Double knee problems forced my competitive days to end at the age of 27.
Committee experience: Chairman of Nuneaton Ex-Servicemen’s Assn., and Staff representative at Jaguar Cars, involved in numerous types of negotiations.
